Merlin workshops aim to teach the practical and creative skills and traditional crafts, to improve the offer of quality activities for your spare time, and to encourage the persons of various skills, resources, milieu, education and age to actively participate in the creative processes.

1. COMPUTER WORKSHOP FOR THE BEGINNERS

Computer workshop for persons of various age groups and education aims to train them to use computer and thus enable their access to large quantity of information, to have larger specter of communication and develop a greater equality at labor market.

Windows, Word, Internet programs. The participants learn the basics such as: the elements of workspace, use of start list, organization of workspace, setting date and time, setting password, data organization, creating and working with files and directories, creating, saving and printing documents, editing documents, using Mozilla Firefox, website content, searching Internet, storing data from the Interneta, using e-mail, communicating via e-mail, chat, blog and similar, recording data (music, video, photo) on CD and stick.

Workshops are held once a month, in a group of 6, with the individual teaching approach, based on the program for adult persons, adjusted to the needs of the elderly and the beginners, from 20 to 30 hours, in the afternoon, starting at 5 p.m., 2 hours three times a week.

2. TAILORING AND SEWING WORKSHOP

The beginners and the advanced workshop teach the skill of the independent apparel making, and are also the place where their creativity is encouraged and where they can learn the skill useful for their everyday life, which can save money and be the source of the occasional family income.

During the 28 hours of the beginners workshop, the participants learn how to use the sewing machine, and how to tailor and sew a skirt and pants in contemporary cut. during 28 hours of workshop. The advanced workshop teaches them how to make a blouse or jacket, also during 28 hours. The workshop is held three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The participants who finished both the beginners and advanced workshop can come for consultations (if they need them) throughout the whole year.

3. WEAVING AND EMBROIDERY WORKSHOPS

Weaving workshop teaches women how to weave using weaving loom and other weaving techniques. It encourages the creativity and personal expression, and it revives the traditional textile technique of making the decorative and apparel items.

The "Beginners weaving workshop" is held during 3 weekends in the autumn, on Saturday from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in two group of 6 persons, on three weaving looms. The workshop lasts 20 hours, the participants learn how to plan the weave, prepare the weave, weave, draw weave with the harmony of color and design, manually weave, and draw the embroidery with harmony of colour and design.

The women who participated in the beginners course may come three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) throughout the year and weave in our workshop.

4. ROMAN SMILES

The workshop for clay modeling and making the molds and casts from plaster, based on the motifs on Roman cultural and historical monuments in Pula, especially the amphitheater games and the theater. Roman Smiles Workshop was launched in 2004. Since then, about 80 original objects inspired by the authentic masks of ancient Romans, historical buildings and traces of that period of history have been made. The goal of this workshop is to familiarize with the monuments, buildings and art of local history, and to involve the citizens in the design of souvenirs and the initiative for the change in the production of souvenirs in Pula.

During summer and for the duration of the manifestation The original splendor of Pula's Arena, cast workshop produces over 5.000 objects made by the Association members and persons with the special needs, who therefore contribute to the positive image of the souvenir offer in our city.
