Manifestation "The original splendor of Pula's Arena"

In the scope of the "Creative workshops" project, Merlin Association in cooperation with the City of Pula and the Tourist Board of Pula, is organizing sales-exhibition manifestation the "Original splendor of Pula's Arena 2010", at Ninfej location. We invite the non-profit organization to deliver the samples to the "Committee for handicraft selection" until 30 April 2010. The Committee will select the works representing the cultural and historical inheritance of Pula City, to be sold at that location. The Committee consists of the representatives of: the Bureau of Health and Social Welfare, the Department for Culture, City Commission for Fine Arts, the Department for Utility Order, the Tourist Board of Pula and Merlin Association. The organizations which are the authors of selected works will sign the contract on commission sale. The participating organizations have to contribute financially to the cost of both booth maintenance and the fee of people selling the products. The proceeds from the sale will be used for the financing of these institutions or NGOs working with the artists and marginalized groups.
Commission Decisions: The Committee for handicraft selection 11.05.2010. chosed by hundreds of works of members following seven organizations that will participate at the event: A home for children, adolescents and adults with cerebral palsy; Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Istria; Society of persons with physical disabilities; Association of : Public Workshop; Medulin Art; T.O.FA and Merlin.

ROMAN SMILES is an educational workshop for modeling clay objects inspired by the cultural and historical inheritance from the Roman period of Pula. Themes are Roman coins, masks, figures of the Gods, monuments.
The most successful work will be used for the production of molds and plaster casts. We invite all interested citizens who wish to use their creativity and contribute to the quality offer of souvenirs and memories of Pula, to participate in this workshop.
Where: Rojc building – South wing, room 3.
When: from 19 April to 14 May 2010. Monday and Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Results: We thank all participants in the workshop and for the new works we will include in our souvenir collection: the Dancer woman, Diana, Venus, Lion and a vase, a Tablet for Roman Soldier, the Gladiator, Janus, Arena3, Diocletian, Augustus. |
